YouTube Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Implement our YouTube strategy and provide regular feedback to the Senior Manager Communities of Practice to support with strategy updates
  • Ensure the channel remains visually appealing by checking that thumbnails are used to agreed brand standards; our TE visual identity is strong, and our Home page showcases the best of our channel. This will be achieved by collaborating with our English and Schools Education marketing colleagues
  • Develop and share a posting plan that shows all teams when their videos will be published, but will also help us to track any posting trends that might boost reach and engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to curate their videos either on our channel or within our playlists (depending on the agreed approach). While TeachingEnglish is principally for our own content, we also house other key videos for English and Schools Education
  • Collaborate with and inform internal colleagues of the new videos available, specifically the Social Media Manager, Open Learning Manager, and newsletter writers to recommend video content for upcoming professional practices and feed into the TeachingEnglish calendars, communities’ content, workbook, etc.
  • Optimise video metadata, titles, descriptions, and tags to increase visibility and search rankings.
  • Manage and maintain our YouTube community by engaging with comments, responding to inquiries, and fostering a positive online environment in-line with TeachingEnglish brand
  • Stay up to date with YouTube best practices, algorithm changes, and industry trends to ensure our channel remains competitive and successful
  • Ability to create YouTube shorts out of the content being shared
  • Maintain an offline YouTube video inveAntory that details all the videos we have, upload dates and the playlists they belong to, and be able to support with the review of this to suggest video to archive (based on performance and age)
  • Check and correct or create CC transcripts as AI often mistakes what people are saying and these need editing
  • Keep all central documentation updated 

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in video editing and have own video editing software
  • Creative mindset with the ability to spot opportunities from YouTube insights of content performance and via moderation
  • Familiarity with trends and norms in presentation on YouTube, specifically for ELT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency level English
  • Social media community management experience, specifically of managing YouTube channels and implementing successful strategies
  • Good understanding of YouTube analytics and SEO best practices
  • Teaching and/or teacher educator experience in English language teaching (ELT) - nice to have
