Senior Backend Scala Developer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the backend of the Data Catalog application, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability
• Work with a microservices architecture deployed on Kubernetes, integrating with large-scale data platforms such as Hadoop and Snowflake
• Implement features and improvements using Scala, with a strong emphasis on functional programming (using the Cats library)
• Build services with Bazel and sbt, ensuring code quality and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with frontend components and data platforms

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of a professional experience
• Strong proficiency in Scala, Spark, and Spark SQL
• Experience with the Typelevel stack (Cats, Http4s, fs2)
• Solid understanding of SQL for database interactions
• Familiarity with Bazel for build automation
• Experience with containerization using Docker
• Understanding of orchestration and deployment with Kubernetes
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch for search functionalities
• Very good command of English (oral and written)
• Proficiency in Bash scripting - nice to have
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines - nice to have 
• Familiarity with Hadoop and Snowflake for big data processing - nice to have
