Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Building pipelines to ingest, process, model and present data using Microsoft Synapse
• Creating end user reporting content in Power BI
• Using and creating APIs and other data connections to support our dataflows
• Creating the necessary security and access controls to support our legal obligations and data protection and risk policies
• Working with internal customers to analyze data flows and associated processes and produce design documents
• Researching and creating data models within our data environment 

Requirements:

• Expertise in Azure Synapse and Power BI
• Fluent English
• Experience in Data Factory, Spark, Databricks, SQL Server, Python, R, Scala SAP BW, Business Objects would be a strong plus
• Up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of data extraction, manipulation, data modeling and analysis techniques
• Understanding of suitable data and database formats, standards and schemas
• Experience of accessing and extracting data from a range of sources and manipulating to the format required for analysis
• Experience of communicating research results in both written and spoken modes
